Thank you for your expressed interest in Chi Upsilon Sigma. While this site will provide you with some basic information about our sisterhood, you must note that it will not be able to show you what C.U.S. means to every sister that calls this our home.
Since its inception, C.U.S. has been at the forefront of the Latino Greek movement. A leader among its kind, C.U.S. serves as a vehicle through which women can voice their opinions, work towards important current issues, and shape the community around them.
In the late 1970’s, seven women began a journey that would eventually lead to the formation of C.U.S. These pioneers saw the need for an organization that would benefit the Latino college community while empowering women and giving them a platform from which they could excel. An all women’s organization was born at Rutgers University with the concept of “womanism” at its core, and with tradition and family as its backbone. C.U.S. became the first sorority to be established by Women for Women. More than a service organization, C.U.S. strives to provide Political, Social, Educational and Cultural awareness to its campus and surrounding communities.
We encourage you to seize the opportunity to become part of our family. Starting a chapter of C.U.S. at your school will be an experience that will prove rewarding for you and beneficial for your entire college community.
For more information, please complete the new chapter inquiry form.
We look forward to working with you,
